Gold Areion represents the great wealth of Poseidon, god of the sea. Poseidon changes the horse from black to gold when he wishes to impress the other gods with his riches. Areion retains his wild nature, however.
Scientific Name: Equus aurum Characteristics: Sometimes confused with the flying horse Pegasus, Areion is the offspring of the sea-god Poseidon. The figure is wilder than Pegasus and can be tamed and ridden by very few—only gods and heroes. Size and Color: Pure gold is the only color to describe this mythical Gold Areion. It stands 5 inches tall and extends 5 ½ inches from nose to tail, a little larger than a CD case.
