RESIDENT PROFILE: Quark. A resident Ferengi on Deep Space Nine. Owner of "Quark's Place," an entertainment complex on the Promenade, which serves as a haven for many alien travelers throughout the galaxy. Contrary to the stereotypical Ferengi, Quark is known as a charming host, albeit a mischievous one. Quark established his concession when the Cardassians were in control of Deep Space Nine. Following the Bajoran uprise and the Cardassian abandonment of the station, Quark was convinced by Sisko to maintain his business. Chief Security Officer Odo has filed an extensive report detailing the improprieties of Quark's business dealings. Commander Sisko has ordered immediate restitution by Quark for any flagrant attempts to defraud the patrons on the Promenade. Though Quark has not been overtly implicated, he has been suspected of being an accomplice to numerous convert weapons transactions. He is a shrewd and clever entrepreneur who should not be trusted. Hi cousin is currently serving time for a crime Quark may very well have committed himself!

STATION NOTE: Quark has been allowed to continue his business interests aboard the station, operating his bar on the Promenade - a frequent meeting place of residents and visitors. Commander Sisko feels that Quark's camaraderie and influence among alien visitors and other resident is valuable to Starfleet. For the time being, Quark is considered a source of stability and continuity on the station.
