Republic Pictures' iconic flying suit first appeared in 1949's 12 chapter serial, "King of the Rocketmen", featuring Tris Coffin as two fisted rocket propulsion expert Jeff King. In 1952, the rocket powered avenger soared into action in two subsequent serials; "Radar Men From The Moon", with George Wallace as Commando Cody and later that year featuring Judd Holdren as Larry Martin in, "Zombies of the Stratosphere". Holdren also appeared as the now masked hero in a twelve episode theatrical/television release entitled, "Commando Cody Sky Marshal of the Universe". Finally, in 2004, amateur filmmaker Gary Hughes produced an homage to the flying suit serial characters in, "Thirty Second Doom".
