Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.) is an organization consisting of brilliant yet misguided scientists and their hirelings dedicated to the acquisition of power and the overthrow of all governments by technological means. In World War II, Baron Von Strucker created an organization named HYDRA. He divided HYDRA into two branches Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM) and the Secret Empire. AIM first began as a group to design weapons for HYDRA and the Secret Empire was designed to fund HYDRA. Recently they have been established as an independent nation state, no longer affiliated with HYDRA and were bought by Sunspot.
