A Hobbit from the sleepy Shire, Pippin found himself thrust into the War of the Ring when he and his cousin Merry accompanied Frodo on his quest. Pippin and Merry were captured by Uruk-Hai serving the fallen wizard Saruman. Lost and alone in the midst of his enemies, Pippin was forced to mature quickly. He and Merry watched their captors carefully, hoping for a chance to slip their bonds and escape.
