In October 1992, Canterbury began wrestling in WCW under a mask as Shanghai Pierce. IN January of 1994 he lost a hair vs mask match against JOhnny B. Badd, but would continue wrestling as Shangai Pierce until he departed WCW in November of 1994.

In late November of 1994 Cantebury debuted for the WWF as Henry O. Godwinn, a pig farmer turned wrestler who came down to the ring with a bucket of slop that he would dump on his opponents. Godwinn wrestled in singles competition for the whole of 1995 ending the year in a feud with the aristocratic Hunter Hearst Helmsley that culminated in an "Arkansas Hog Pen match" at WWF In Your House 5: Season's Beatings. In 1996 Phineas I. Godwinn began to team with Henry as The Godwinns. The two continued to be referred to as hog farmers and kept bringing the slop bucket down during their matches. During their time as a tag team, the duo won the tag team titles twice but only held the belts for a total of 9 days. They also won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter award for worst tag team in 1996 and 1997. They had an ongoing feud with the Smoking Guns for 1996 and the Headbangers for 1997. In June of 1998, the two underwent a gimmick change and started coming to the ring in suits to provide back up for Jeff Jarrett in his feud with D Generation X. They began being referred to as Southern Justice, using their real names and being portrayed as southern hired guns. Shortly after a match against DX at the September PPV Breakdown: In Your House, Canterbury retired from wrestling.
