Born on a nameless planet, Gorr entered the world as a member of an elusive, unnamed species. Deeply entrenched in the customs and faith of his tribe, he clung to their beliefs with unwavering devotion. However, the relentless agony of witnessing his loved ones succumb to suffering and death shattered his faith, causing him to renounce his once-cherished convictions.

For his apostasy and refusal to adhere to the tenets of his tribe, Gorr was cast out, forced to traverse the barren expanse of the desert in solitary exile. It was during this period of desolation that he bore witness to an awe-inspiring clash between two deities, their celestial confrontation etching itself upon his very soul.

In the aftermath of the divine battle, Gorr seized upon an opportunity presented by fate itself. Retrieving the legendary Necrosword, a weapon of immense power, he bound himself to its dark might. Consumed by an unyielding thirst for retribution, Gorr pledged to unleash his vengeance upon the gods who had callously ignored his impassioned entreaties throughout his anguished existence.

Gorr, consumed by an unyielding hatred for all gods, embarked on a relentless cosmic quest spanning thousands of years to exact his vengeance. He relentlessly slaughtered numerous deities associated with fear, war, chaos, and other domains, amassing dark minions to aid him in his crusade.

Throughout his journey, Gorr crossed paths with Thor on multiple occasions. In one encounter in the 9th century, Gorr killed a god from the Americas, leading Thor to investigate the mysterious death. Gorr attacked Thor during a Viking raid, nearly succeeding in slaying him but was ultimately defeated when Thor severed his right arm.

Gorr, however, survived their initial clash and continued his campaign of god-killing, growing stronger with each divine life claimed. Thor, aware of Gorr's actions, pursued him across time and space after witnessing the aftermath of Gorr's massacres. Gorr, seeking ultimate power, attacked Chronux and harnessed the blood of Time Gods to traverse the timestream. He murdered elder gods from the dawn of the universe and traveled millennia into the future, establishing a stronghold on Earth. There, he enslaved captured gods and forced them to build a weapon known as the Godbomb, designed to eradicate all gods throughout time.

When Thor from the 21st century arrived, Gorr captured the young Thor from the 9th century and enslaved him along with other gods. The three incarnations of Thor united and launched a final assault against Gorr, but his accumulated power proved too formidable, leaving the Thors defeated. Gorr proceeded to activate the Godbomb, but Thor, empowered by prayers and wielding the Necrosword, weakened him. Finally, with the assistance of "Agar," Gorr's construct of his deceased son, Thor dealt the killing blow, putting an end to Gorr's reign of terror.
