Prichard began his wrestling career in the early 1980s, debuting in various regional promotions. He quickly gained recognition for his technical skills and charismatic persona. He worked under several ring names, but he is best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where he performed as "Dr. Tom Prichard."

In the 1990s, Prichard became a key figure in tag team wrestling. He formed successful partnerships, most notably with Jimmy Del Ray as part of the tag team "The Heavenly Bodies." Their unique blend of athleticism and charisma made them fan favorites and earned them a significant following. The Heavenly Bodies wrestled in the WWF, Smoky Mountain Wrestling, ECW and the USWA. In November of 1995, Prichard joined up with Skip (Chris Candido), and the duo began being referred to as the Bodydonnas. Prichard began being referred to as Skip's cousin Zip. The duo were fitness enthusiasts and known for their energetic performances and colorful, flamboyant personas. They one the tag team titles in the preshow of Wrestlemania 12 and held them for two months. In September of 96, Skip left the company and Prichard started to wrestle under a mask as Dr. X, completely abandoning his fitness enthusiast persona. At this point, the WWF started using him as an instructor to help train wrestlers and became less involved with TV and live events. Prichard continued on with the WWF until 2004.
