Destiny was introduced as a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants. Despite her blindness, Destiny's visions of the future made her a valuable ally and adversary to the X-Men. She participated int the attempted assassination of Senator Robert Kelly but was foiled by the X-men. As a member of the Brotherhood, she was arrested for terrorist activities and then given a pardon in exchange for joining a government-sponsored team of mutant operatives known as Freedom Force. Destiny was killed by Legion when Freedom Force was sent to Muir Island to save it's residents from an attack by the Reavers. Sometime after her death, the X-men formed a specific team to hunt down her diaries and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.
