This figure is based on Spider-Man's appearance in the 2012 feature film "The Amazing Spider-Man," starring Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man himself and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. The classic Spider-Man costume was redesigned for the new movie with much more blue than red, which is shown on the figure. It does not include any accessories, but the figure has thirty points of articulation, as advertised. It is a completely new Spider-Man mold, and is accurate to the design of Spider-Man's costume in the new movie. It is the most articulated figure in the 3.75 Inch Amazing Spider-Man Line.

In the film "The Amazing Spider-Man," Andrew Garfield plays Peter Parker, an orphaned teenager with an interest in science. His powers are derived from the bite of a genetically modified spider who climbs onto his neck while he is in a room full of the substance that would eventually become his webbing. His love interest Gwen Stacy is played by Emma Stone, and he battles the Lizard (Rhys Ifans).
