M.U.S.C.L.E. men stand ofr "Millions of Unusual Small Creatures Lurking Everywhere", and where 2" tall rubber figures. They were based on Japanese comic book and cartoon wrestling character Kinnikuman (Muscle Man), and these figures were originally produced by BanDai, but distributed by Mattel in the 80's. The first figures were all flesh colored, and later produced in different colors. They were sold in 4-packs, 10 packs, or 28 packs. Only the first two had names, the rest were only referred to by numbers. There are 233 U.S. characters, and some Japanese only ones. The U.S. were a harder plastic, the Japanese a softer rubber.
