•Mcfarlane Toys Soap Mactavish head/kneepad

Toss your diver torso into some really hot water, not quite boiling because you don't want to warp the plastic. Leave it sit for about 10 seconds in the hot water and remove.

While still hot, pop the recondo arms and neck onto the torso.

Slip the shipwreck crotch overlay onto the diver torso, put the legs into the water for 10 seconds and pop them on as well.

Shipwrecks crotch overlay has a belt glued on. I opted to heat and remove the belt, filled in the hole using some moldable plastic pellets and colored black to match the belt with a Gundam pen.

At this point, you can attach the hands from Trigger. With your water still hot, insert Recondos arms up to the elbow and wait for 10 seconds. Remove and they will be soft enough for Trigger's hands to fit inside the peg hole.

Now take your McFarlane soap and submerge him for 30 seconds to a minute, his head should pop right off! You'll notice it doesn't port right over to the Recondo neck- it's time to Dremel :)

Dremel out soaps head to the point of being almost hollowed out, be careful not to Dremel out the top of his head! I just did medium speed rotation, with a small Dremel bit, and went in circles while applying slight pressure so that the whole inside of the head was evenly dremeled out.

If done correctly, it should fit down on the neck like so! You may even decide to mold him a new socket inside the head with your moldable pellets!

Now for the vest, it's a bit involved like the head was.

If you want to make yours look like mine, you will need two vests from a desert condor action force figure. Put them both in hot water and once softened, remove the knife sheath from the vest you want to use on the figure. Next, remove the two ammo pouches from the donor vest. With an exacto knife (be careful) slice the ammo pouches in half and super glue one onto your main vest next to the other two stock pouches. I also used the thigh knife sheath from my recon diver, trimmed off the strap and glued it to the shoulder of my vest. For the fanny pack, you can take the thigh pouch and remove it from the straps of your desert condor figure. Slice off the handle and glue it sideways to the bottom of your vest.

The vest is quite light in color from the factory, so I gave it many coats of brown wash. You'll need brown apple barrel paint and some water. Thin that paint down HEAVILY and mix it up. With a big brush, dab the paint onto the vest. If it's thin enough, the paint will run into all the details of the vest. After enough coats you will get an effect like I have on mine.

Using Tamiya TS-80 spray on flat topcoat, I sealed the vest. Many coats of this to protect everything, do short swiping motions while applying and let it dry fully between coats.

The kneepad on the McFarlane figure is a part of the sculpt. I heated and popped the off at the knee, and used my x-acto knife to slice the kneepad away from the leg. From there I carefully dremeled it out until it laid flush with the knee on my shipwreck leg.

I had a few issues with the McFarlane soap head paint apps. The hair stubble only went halfway over the head, leaving everything behind the ears looking bald, so I used a grey Gundam fine tip pen to sit and wipe a new hair cut onto him. You will probably not have this issue. If you do, just dot a small section densely and then use your finger to wipe and blend. I did this throughout the painted section as well to fully blend.

The final step is giving soap the Turkish hairline surgery. He's got a strong widows peak on the stock figure, so I took my grey Gundam pen and carefully drew him a nicer hairline and blended it with my finger.

After all is said and done you will have a soap just like this one!
