Optimus Prime (Cybertron Mode)
Transformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
I missed this guy on almost every oportunity that presented itself and when I finally wanted him, he was sold out! On a trip out of town, I found him amongst a pile of other first wave shelfwarmers and picked him up. As expected, it's a truly fine toy that suffers from the main flaw of most early Animated action figures: sloppy and sticky paint. On the limbs, paint is not the issue, but on the torso. The windsheild chest has the edge and sides of it painted red, but it is either too thick or too thin in places and on the right, well I guess the closest it could come to human anatimy, pectoral looks like either a spill of silver paint or red paint stratched away to show silver plastic, though I'm putting my money on the former. These are easily fixed, but still pain and shows off the poor...[See More]
Cyclonus with Nightstick (G1 Series)
Transformers - Universe 2008 (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
After the non-airbrushed photo's of Cyclonus were released, I didn't intend to get him, turned of by his duller color and oddly two-toned legs but I broke down, deciding if I had Galvatron, I might as well get Cyclonus to go along with him. Can't have Mr. Burns without Mr. Smithers, right? I was supprised at the over all quality for Cyclonus. The two-tone legs are still annoying, but just barely noticable and I wish he had just a little brighter color scheme but he is still a great toy. The design is spectacular and I've fallen in love with his forarms which look like big puffy sleeves which I think is hilarious. Suprisingly, his bunny-ears aren't made of super soft plastic, just semi-flexable. He has a good range of motion and good balance, so he won't fall over too much. The Spaceship...[See More]
Shockwave
Transformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Voyager Class
Rated 5.00 stars by Collector1
Cold, logical, and ruthless, Shockwave is the ultimate Decepticon spy and the ultimate Voyager Class toy. With four destinct modes and a fun and complex transformation, Shockwave is one of the best Animated toys I have yet to own. The Decepticon spy can transform into a Cybertronian crane, tank, and his Autobot disguise of Longarm Prime and his true form as the tall, powerful Shockwave. The vehicle modes are fairly similair, with the crane mearly being the tank mode with the treads arced up and the cannon folded down so the arm can extend. The real tresuar is the two robot modes. Both of them are very distinct and truly look like sperarate action figures. Longarm Prime is much shorter than Shockwave, with a stockier frame and his vechile modes crane hanging off his back. Shockwave on the...[See More]
Duke (Jetpack) (Cartoon) (v1)
G.I. Joe - 25th Anniversary (Hasbro) - Wave 7
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
The greatest GI Joe and sworn nemisis of Cobra Commander comes armed to the teeth and baring upon his back the Jetpack originaly seen in the new opening made for the 1987 animated film and the American Flag that can be held, if loosly, in his hands. This mold is a slightly redecoed version of the Duke released in the 4th Series with a lighter shade of brown used for his shirt and a hole made in his back to acomidate the jetpack. Duke is very well articulated with swivel hinged ankles, elbows, hips, and shoulders while his wrists, mid-section and neck are swivels. Oh yeah, the knees are double hinged. The wrist connections are kind of malformed and look like they will rip out of their sockets if you mess with them too much, so be careful with it. His guns (a machine gun and hand gun) can...[See More]
Blurr
Transformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
Styled after the second fastest fictional car, the Mach 5 of Speed Racer fame, Blurr as been revived as the super speeder (and talker) of the Autobot ranks. The minute I saw the first test shots of Blurr, I knew that I would have him even if I had to sluaghter all who got in my way. Which it turned out were a lot of people. And cops. After a long trial, I got off on a technicality and finally popped this sucker open. This is perhaps the best Animated Deluxe figure I have come across. Unlike other transformers, there is no jaring transition between the color of parts and switches, allowing it to come together seamlessly and disguising the button on the hood quite well. The primary colors used for Blurr are a light blue, a shade of blue-green I think, and a dark blue for the sides and hood....[See More]
Autobot Hound with Ravage (G1 Series)
Transformers - Universe 2008 (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 5.00 stars by Collector1
At first, I was very unsure if I was going to purchase Hound when he was announced. Then Hasbro decided to punch me in the stomach and forced my hand by including a new Ravage toy with Hound. Oh, you are the tricky ones Hasbro. First, we'll start with Hound. Hound transforms from a stubby, big footed robot into an Army Jeep. The transformation is simple, but with enough of a challange to it so it doesn't get boring. The Holo-Gram gun can be mounted on the back of ether chair in vehicle mode and holds pretty tight. The arms remind me some of the Starscream mold only retooled some. Maybe a caqouincidence, maybe not. The grill pops off easily so don't worry too much about it breaking. The Holo-Gram gun can be mounted on either shoulder, but it doesn't hold very well. Some modification to...[See More]
Starscream (G1 Series)
Transformers - Universe 2008 (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 2.00 stars by Collector1
Does Starscream really need an introduction? Since the 1980's, Starscream has been plotting and planning his over throw of Megatron. Which usually comes down to shooting him in the back and declaring himself leader before he's smacked upside the head by a fusion cannon blast for being stupid. This is only the second Starscream released in this particular mold, originally made for the Classics toyline and redecoed and retooled countless times into Skywarp, Thundercracker, Dirge, Ramjet, and Acid Storm. By now, the mold is offically cheese and needs to be over hauled by Hasbro if they want to keep using it. The only reason I got this was because I didn't have the original Classics version. However, this version has a far more cartoon accurate paint job, so I guess it has some advantages....[See More]
Cheetor (Beast Wars Series)
Transformers - Universe 2008 (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 3.50 stars by Collector1
Having waited with girlish glee at the prospect of a new Cheetor toy, I was most exstatic over having finally found him in stock at my own personal backwater Wal*Mart. I snatched him up along with the rerelease of Starscream, and the new Hound and Animated Blurr figures and was only moderatly dissapointed with Cheetor. Originally, Cheetor's beast mode was an immobile brick with a disgustingly placed water cannon. This newer update is a shockingly accurate portrail or a Cheeta with a bulky upper body and a very slim, borderline anorexic lower half. While it has far more articulation that the original (I.e. can move), the hind legs are a little restricted in over all movement, but still loaded with joints. A neat homage to the odd fact that the original Cheetor came in two eye colors (green...[See More]
Ryu Hayabusa
Ninja Gaiden II (Neca) - Basic Series
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
From the famed video game series "Ninja Gaiden", Neca brings to life the Ninja Warrior Ryu Hayabusa like never before with thirty-three points of articulation, a stelar sculpt, beautiful paint applications and a really bad left hand and right socket. Not to say that this is a bad toy, it isn't, there is just a few quality control issuse that should have been worked out. Ryu is seven inches tall and, unlike previous Player Select toys like the Gears of War and Bionic Commando figures, puts more focus on articulation and not detail to show off his flexibility and ninja skill I guess. Ryu has obvious ball jointed hips and ab-crunch as well as double hinged elbows. Other, less obvious, articulation include hinged toes, a swivel waits, a ball socket head and swivel neck-base, swivel biceps,...[See More]

I just got one without daggers too. The paint is sloppy, especially on the head, and the crest on his head/mask is half unglued and bent. This isn''t a big deal since i''m removing the head anyhow but for what the figure goes for i''d expect better quality.

i have the ninja gaiden figure as well, and i must say that i like it. true, there are some QC issues, but mine are a bit different.
1) his left leg pops out of the socket.
2)the glue that holds the rubber pieces together is too thin.
over all....its still a solid figure. mine did not come wit the daggers, but i contacted NECA about this problem, and they had this to say...

Cobra Commander (Battle Armor)
G.I. Joe - 25th Anniversary (Hasbro) - Wave 6
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
For over twenty-five years, Cobra and GI Joe have been trading blows in multiple media from cheestastic animated series, anime, comics, and above all else, toys! This is essentially a rerelease of the original battle armor Cobra Commander complete with a word by word stat card and a slightly darker shade of paint used for the blue-green. Cobra Commander is unsuprisingly well articulated, having held in my possession some of the original three and a half inch Joes before, but it seems he's been upgraded some with swivel hands and ankles. If this was part of the original mold for this design, I'm clueless there. Anyway, Cobra Commander has in additon to the other joints, double hinged knees, socket hinged hips, swivel jointed torso, swivel hinged elbows, socket hinged shoulders and a swivel...[See More]
