Iron Spider-Man Spider-Man - Classics (Hasbro) - Basic Series Rated 1.50 stars by Azrael Ugh, where to start where to start? I dunno, I guess I have to find at least 200 words to tell you how bad this figure is, and by the end of those words you will know my pain and suffering, and the lesson I learned about keeping the receipt for returns. Iron Spider is the personification of all of Hasbro's shoddy work. He's skinny, not Spider-Man skinny, but like a twig. His movable fingers look terrible and he can't make a fist. His face is retarded, I mean there's a part of the eye molding they go OUT OF THEIR WAY NOT TO PAINT. And speaking of paint, the paint apps are terrible and shoddy, with red scratches on the edges of the gold paint. The articulation in tight, so even though he has the points, he can't move into positions well. Did I mention that the claws don't make him back...[See More]
Moon Knight Marvel Universe - Fury Files (Hasbro) - Wave 4 Rated 2.50 stars by Azrael Alright, so after dancing around this figure, mentioning him in other reviews, and taking good, long, hard looks at him, I've decided that it's finally time to review Moon Knight. Moon Knight here is one of the best AND worst Marvel Universe figures at the same time. For starters, he comes with good accessories. His bo staff, which is hard plastic so it doesn't bend, and a moonarang (not sure fi that's what it's called) which is better than the nun chucks his ML counterpart came with. His paint apps are pretty good, then again, there's not much to mess up on considering all they really needed to paint was the moon shaped logo on the chest. His body is... awkward to say the least. Like something that's drawn by Rob Lifield, big upper body, thin legs. When you take off his cape, you see how...[See More]
Spider-Man (Spider-Sense) Marvel Legends Showdown (Toy Biz) - Battle Booster Packs - Series 2 Rated 5.00 stars by Azrael Hey Hasbro, guess what? I never get tired of saying this, but EAT YOUR HEART OUT, TOY BIZ BEAT YOU AT THIS YEARS AGO!!! That's right, try putting a Marvel Legends SHowdownS pider-Man side by side with MU Spider-Man and you cans ee the difference in quality. Not only is the articulation better, but MLS Spidey's knees aren't on his shins! He has as much articulation as a Marvel Legends figure, which is why I love this line. His height is definitely in proportion, he stands at the same height as MU Black Spider-Man. And oh my god his sculpt is downright godly. Spider-Man has every proper detail, perfect eyes, perfect symbol, perfect webbing. Hell, even the paint apps are good, sporting perfect colors and paint. Gotta love it! I'm trying to think of a problem I have with this figure, but I...[See More]
Moon Knight Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 15 - Modok Series Rated 4.50 stars by Azrael Woo hoo! It's time to review a figure that everyone else ahs already gotten to! Oh well, I have a message to send and dang it I'm gonna send it! Moon Knight is a cool figure all around. Great hood/cape combo, and while his sculpt s a bit blank, that only helps his custom possibilities! Moon Knight's paint apps are spot on, and his original (original as in new and creative, not the first) black suit design was a great example of creative liberties taken by Toy Biz. The accessories that came with this figure are pretty solid. Good bo staff and good nun chucks (or nunchaku, whatever). Sadly, there's no place to put the nun chucks, and since I never saw Moon Knight use nun chucks, I don't let him hold them. To wrap things up, Moon Knight is a cool figure that you won't see recreated thanks to...[See More]
Noob Saibot Mortal Kombat (Jazwares) - Series 3 - Shaolin Monks Rated 2.00 stars by Azrael I am a Mortal Kombat fan. I honestly believe I have made that much clear. As a fan of the ninjas, I amde it a point to pick up Noob Saibot in the dying days of KB Toys. My mistake. Noob isn't game accurate in terms of colors, although I believe they made a variant that corrected that problem. His arms seem quite stubby and shorter then they should be, and his closed fists don't let him hold the weapons he comes with. The face mold is sadly accurate, I say this because the render it's based off of was never very flattering in the first place. I believe I, like everyone else, prefer Noob in his secondary costume from Deception, you know, the iconic all black look. Looks good. However instead we get a miscolored weird looking ninja which frankly I don't care for. If you can get any other MK...[See More]
Raiden Mortal Kombat (Jazwares) - Series 1 - Deception Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael GOD OF THUNDER AND ROCK AND ROLL (the spell you're under will slowly rob you of your virgin soul). Anyway, this here is the God of Thunder, Raiden. I managed to get this guy cheap, which is saying something considering it's a Mortal kombat figure. He looks pretty good in every way. Decent paint, pretty good sculpt, my only tiny peeve is that his arms seem to be a bit too long. Anyway, he can pull of some pretty sick Thunder God poses. Such as shooting lighting... and shooting lightning... and slapping someone. Okay fine, not a lot of poses you can pull off, but the ones you can are still pretty good I guess, and it's not like I'm playing with him, so one display pose is fine for me. Raiden isn't as good as Scorpion, and he's around the same level of good as Sub Zero, which granted is...[See More]
Scorpion Mortal Kombat (Jazwares) - Series 1 - Deception Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael SCORPION!!!! That's right, your favorite yellow ninja decides to pop out of hell to pay us a visit in toy form! Scorpion here is aprt of the Jazwares Mortal Kombat Deception line, and let me say, he doesn't disappoint. He can pull of a variety of awesome poses that Sub-Zero can't thanks to the open/closed hands (which is weird, why can Jazwares do it right but Hasbro makes it suck?). He even comes with his spear and sword which allows him to achieve level two of amazing poses, recreating great scenes from the game (scenes? more like mock ups). What's weird, is that my Scorpion seems to be one of the one in ten that doesn't have a brown mask, but a gold one. Seriously, the mask is like, brown, it looks weird. Glad I got a good one. Well, to wrap it up, Scorpion here is one of my favorite...[See More]
Sub-Zero Mortal Kombat (Jazwares) - Series 1 - Deception Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael Alright, I'm a big Mortal Kombat guy, so I have a bunch of these figures. Sub Zero is the most radical. I've had 3 Sub Zeros, and the paint apps were differing on every one, so it's really hard to judge how those are, then again, this seems to be the case with all Jazwares figures. So moving on, Sub Zero's mold is pretty good. Dark and gritty, yet under the clothes, it's a comic book type build. I've always liked this costume, like a mix of Shredder and Classic Sub Zero... with sexy results! (inside joke) His sword is the same one he used in the game, awesome and made of ice. His hands are a fist and an open hand, which if he's not holding any thing gives you the ability to give him the ability to give you a THUMBS UP YEAH!!!! It's fun for when you need a little confidence booster lol....[See More]
Iron Man (Mark V) Iron Man 2 - 2010 Movie (Hasbro) - Movie Series Rated 3.50 stars by Azrael Well, after seeing the second Iron man 2 trailer I had one thing on my mind. Suitcase Mark V armor, Suitcase Mark V armor, Suitcase Mark V armor! I was able to find it on my first go, and I must say, sadly disappointing. His arms can't go all the way up so he can't pull off an "I'm gonna blast your face off" pose. The mold looks good, but it doesn't seem to be painted in all the places it should be, which is honestly disappointing. I'm sad to say that my second purchase int eh Iron Man 2 line wasn't as good as Movie War Machine, my first. However, this figure isn't really a good show of what the line can be, and from what I've seen, this is low tier compared to some of the others. This is a real shame because this is definitely a cool armor. Oh well, I guess I'm going to have to go...[See More]
War Machine Iron Man 2 - 2010 Movie (Hasbro) - Movie Series Rated 5.00 stars by Azrael So let's all just get this off our chests up front. War Machine looks amazing. I mean I never though about how they would make War Machine's movie design, they had a million and two possibilities, but this is just great. Moving on. The figure is great, with a new sort of articulation point for his shoulder guns and removable bandoliers. Other than that it's Wolverine Origins articulation, great sculpt, and great paint. War Machine ahs an open fist and hand, like every other 1:18 figure. But he works because he can pull off the poses with the guns and the more guns and the ahh you get it by now. Basically, this is the first Iron man 2 figure I've purchased and I'm quite happy with it. It's also my favorite War Machine figure yet, but then again, I have yet to get my hands on the...[See More]
