Grenadier Beast Rider
Gears of War (Neca)They are the trainers and the commanders of the Locust Hoards viscious monsters. From the lowly Blood Mounts to the terrifing Brumak these troops are a commanding force on the battlefield.

The Rider comes in a clamshell case typical for anything NECA releases. The paper inserts graphics are actually taken from the cover of Gears 2. The back has a short bio for them along with pictures of other figures for the line. There's also a few shots of the toy in front of some backgrounds from the game.

The sculpt is absolutly beautiful. Every tiny detail has been sculpted in. From every scale on his skin to the tiniest marking on his armor. His chest armor is a seperate piece added over him. The same to be said for his bracers which are glued in place. The only problem I have is his hands. They look great but they were made for a standard Grenadier which comes with a shotgun. So he can't hold his weapon very well

His paint is likewise perfect. His armor is a dark almost blood red, while his belt and helmet amongst other details are a greish silver. Though when you open him you'll want to do it in a well ventilated room because like any NECA figure I've ever bought he smells. I have no idea if this is because of the paint or the type of plastic they use but boy it smells.

His articultation is good but not great. He has a swivel neck, swivel hinge sholders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel wrists, swivel waist, and the odest thing ever, swivel knees. I understand that the leg armor of the Locust's doesn't lend itself to articulation but comeon.

His only accessory is a Hammerburst 2.0 assult rifle. Which is acurate to what they use ingame.

Overall this is a great figure and perfect for and Gears fan. I just wich I could find more Locust to join him. Hopefully I'll get that chance since Gears 3 comes out this year.
