Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz)This figure of Gimli comes with multiple axes and a nice set piece the stone table at the council of Elrond with a little plastic ring sculpted on. The axes included are his double headed Axe, which he gets in Moria apparently so it makes no sense why it comes with this Gimli, two throwing axes and another axe which breaks at the blade of the axe recreating the scene where Gimli tried to destroy the ring. Gimli goes on to use a similar axe later on with a smaller handle but that’s not an axe that was ever made so one would have to shorten it. This figures features the same articulation as the regular Gimli but his legs are posed slightly differently and the head is a different sculpt with a lot more hair and a bigger braid so a helmet won’t fit on this figure and the likeness is even worse. Furthermore there’s a different paint job to this figure. To use the action feature the axe is played in Gimli’s hands and the legs like the other one are squeezed to make him raise his axe then release to make him swing down. Overall it’s bit a great rendition of Gimli but you do get some cool accessories so it’s worth it if you need those pieces.   by Deaditor |
