Transformers - Armada (Hasbro)Brave, fearless and strong, Optimus Prime leads the Autobots against the evil forces of the Decipticons to ensure freedom for all sentiant beings! Unless said sentiant beings happen to turn into guns and swords! Powerlink Optimus Prime is a repainted and minorly retooled sculpt of the previous leader class Optimus Prime. Still featuring all the important details, Optimus Prime has a good range of articulation with plenty of seziure inducing flashing light and sounds! When transformed from a long nose truck of fictional make, an enfared signel is sent to the trailer to transform into a command base with numerous missle turrets, minicon or micron storage compartments, global map, and raised tower thing that you can attach Optimus' Ion Cannon to to make a gun tower! When further transformed into the upper torso of his Super Robot Mode, a second signel is sent to the trailer and transforms into the legs of the robot. I say legs in the loosest sense of the word! Optimus Prime's minicon or Micron can attach to his right shoulder in this mode to activate the powerup which is just more lights and sounds that illuminate his Ion Cannon. Unlike the previous mold, Optimus Prime's arm is not limited because of the wiring in his right arm, so this illimnates that problem, much to the relief of many. Sparkplug has also been minorly retooled with a bright, gliterry new paint job, but not much else. Over all, this new Optimus Prime gets five stars out of five!
