Man-Spider Spider-Man (Toy Biz) (Toy Biz)I got this guy years and years ago when it first came out at the local, now defunct, K-Mart. Through some miracle, I found out I still had this guy in an old toy chest with only minor damage to the paint! Man-Spider has an impressive range of motion for a toy made in the 90's with articulated hips, knees, neck and all six arms having movable "shoulders". The tattered costume of Spider-Man is stretched over the Man-Spider's lanky frame, drawn tight over the impressive musculature. The tears are all sculpted and not simply painted on. Man-Spider's horrifying head is bulbous and warped with twin long orange mandibles stretching out from his mouth and ending with black fangs. A circle of red dots, presumably compound eyes, sprout from his forehead with twin red dots below them where his eyes would normally be. Hair is carefully molded all over his exposed body parts, adding a little bit of a tarantula feel to his monstrous body. Each arm is thin and wiry with orange hands and black claws topping them off. Why does he have orange hands? I don't know, I don't care! His feet are essentially talons, thankfully, he doesn't have orange feet. His accessories are two hand cuffs for his extra arms and a mask to keep him from biting peoples heads off. The toy is not all that show accurate. The Man-Spider shown in the Spider-Man: Animated Series, had a much larger, elongated cranium with eight eyes going up two columns from were his eyes normally arm and he sure didn't have orange hands. Over all, Man-Spider gets four and a half stars out of five. So close, yet so far. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
