The year is 1066 and a convent comes under attack by Vikings. Only one survivor of the attack manages to escape into the woods. Unfortunately for her, she is persued by the Vikings, who intend to kill her... or worse. However, just when things looked their worst a Valkyric descends from the sky and saves her.

This Valkyric has converted and begins the class of fighters known as "The Warrior Nuns". Their mission is to combat evil and all the forces of Hell. With the aid of "The Magic Priests" the Warrior Nuns provide the thin line of defense between Earth and the power of Hell. Every once in a while a Warrior Nun will arise who proves to be exceptional. When it is deemed so, that nun may adopt the power and name of the first Warrior Nun: Areala.
